Little Italy Neighborhoods in the United States
By Bill Torrey
Let's take a trip to Little Italy! Which Little Italy? All of them! Find every major Little Italy neighborhood in the United States here, and find out more about each of these popular Italian destinations here. Boston Little Italy - The North End Boston's "Little Italy" neighborhood is more commonly known as "The North End." It is the largest neighborhood of Italian restaurants and shops in New England, if not the country. To get to the North End, simply follow Route 93 north to the Government Center exit in the tunnel. This will bring you right into the western portion of the North End near Hanover Street. Most of the restaurants in the North End are incredible, so go ahead and try one. If there's a line, it's probably good. New York City - Manhattan Little Italy The Manhattan Little Italy is located on Mulberry Street in Lower Manhattan. What was once a much larger neighborhood has shrunk considerably over the years, and now is mostly a single street. There are still many Italian restaurants, shops, and the famous Feast of San Gennaro annually at Little Italy, New York. You may recognize the scenery from episodes of The Sopranos, too. San Diego Little Italy The San Diego Little Italy neighborhood isn't the biggest of the Little Italy's but it's a welcome little enclosure in a sea of California culture. It's easily accessible from many parts of the city, and rather quiet at times during the week. San Francisco Little Italy The San Francisco version of Little Italy has plenty of delicious restaurants, and a gorgeous view of much of the city. The neighborhood is located on a high hill in North Beach. It's quite a workout to walk to this area, so you might just work off your dinner! Cleveland Little Italy Just as you'd expect, Cleveland has an outstanding array of Italian food in their Little Italy restaurants. Every August, the neighborhood also celebrates the Feast of Assumption. Stop on by and experience some of the best pizzerias, bakeries, and restaurants you'll ever visit! Little Italy Baltimore Near Pratt and Albermarle Streets, you can find the Little Italy Baltimore neighborhood. Baltimore may be known for its great seafood, but don't underestimate its ability to cook up a great Italian feast! Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi also grew up in the Baltimore Little Italy neighborhood. Little Italy Chicago One of the most well known local attractions in Chicago is the Little Italy neighborhood. Located along Taylor Street, this neighborhood cooks up some of the best Italian dishes in the city at restaurants like Pompeii and Francesca's.

How about Little Italy in the East?
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
Do you mean in Europe? I'm not sure about those neighborhoods, but I'd be interested to find out. That might be the next idea for an intel!
No, I actually meant Eastern USA but I agree, it would be interesting to see if there are Little Italy neighbourhoods in Europe also.
CONTRIBUTOR'S REPLY
There's also a Little Italy in Troy NY, Bronx NY, and one in Providence RI called Federal Hill. I don't know of any southern cities that have a Little Italy neighborhood.
